Global – Dont Tell Netflix https://dtn.myuat.com We all need a little strange, movies and TV that is! Due to the pandemic, fans of the “Fast & Furious” franchise will have to wait longer to see the next installment in the series. Originally scheduled to hit theaters May 22nd 2020, Universal pushed the release of “Fast & Furious 9” date to May 28th, 2021 in light of the pandemic. Today, March 4th 2021, Universal announced again that it is postponing the release again. This time postponing it 28 more days to June 25th, 2021.

The delay comes after President Joe Biden announced that the US is on track to have enough vaccine doses to vaccinate “every adult American” by the end of May. The delay will allow for more potential movie-goers as there is strong chance that vaccine distribution will surge by June.

The more people getting vaccinated, the likelihood of theaters opening up and boosting their capacities increases. The most recent state to open it’s theaters, New York theaters can only run at 25% capacity. With a $200 million dollar production budget, it was a good move for Universal to hold out in hopes of a more packed theatre, as “the more seats sold = the more money made”.

The movie industry has hit an all time lows as the biggest debuts have been “Wonder Woman 1984” ($16.7 million) and “Tom and Jerry” ($14.1 million). in 2020, box office revenues in the U.S and Canada hit an all time low at $2.3 billion dollars, compared to the $11.4 billion made in 2019. Having “F9” only being delayed by 28 days (and of course Biden’s vaccine announcement), it is a great sign that the end of the pandemic may be nearing.

Quavo to Make Big Screen Debut in ‘Wash Me in the River’ with Robert DeNiro & John Malkovich https://dtn.myuat.com/quavo-makes-big-screen-debut/ https://dtn.myuat.com/quavo-makes-big-screen-debut/#respond Fri, 19 Feb 2021 20:11:39 +0000 https://donttellnetflix.com/?p=16901 By Kurt Balingit

Quavo, the head “huncho” of the Atlanta rap group “Migos”, is set to make his feature-film debut in the upcoming movie “Wash Me in the River”. He makes his debut alongside a talented set of actors in Robert DeNiro, John Malkovich and Jack Huston. It is is directed by Randall Emmett who brought us “The Irishman” in 2019 and “Lone Survivor” in 2013.

Quavo is to play Coyote, the antagonist and ruthless druglord who is responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in the Protagonist’s wife dying from an overdose. The protagonist, named Shelby John and played by Jack Huston, is filled with fiery rage, as he embarks on a vengeful killing spree to right all the wrong done to his deceased fiancé by killing every link in the drug dealing chain.

Armed with nothing but adrenaline and a nail gun, Shelby John picks off dealers and junkies one by one until he gets to the top. Sheriff Church (Robert DeNiro) and Detective Zeppelin must race against the clock to put an end to Shelby’s vigilante justice before his fight with the crime lord Coyote (Quavo) turns the entire town into a bloodbath.

Quavo, excited about his role in the movie, had this to say:

“I honestly think this movie is going to be one of the greatest to come of this time,” Quavo says. “The experience was unbelievable for me, with Robert DeNiro and Jack Huston being so down to earth and making me feel like family. Gonna see me doing some stunts and a lot of what you hear from me in my raps! This is one of my biggest debuts I’ve ever had, and so proud of what we did and to get to work with Randall who’s such an amazing guy — I can’t wait to do more films with him”

Quavo is currently wrapping up filming in Puerto Rico and recently shared this video of him holding a gold plated assault rifle with a chainsaw attachment. A creation that only Pablo Escobar, Scarface, El Chapo or any other ruthless drug lord would own.

Quavo has held small roles and cameos in many television shows, including Netflix’s “Narcos: Mexico”, FX’s “Atlanta,”ABC’s “Black-ish” and Fox’s “Star.”, but this is his first time landing a role on the big screen.

After his documented frustrations with Wonder Woman, he’s getting another chance at the DC Extended Universe and Warner Bros., closing in on a deal to write direct and produce a Batgirl movie.

It’s a somewhat surprising, but welcome move, given that Whedon has taken a long break to write something original, but has now pivoted to focus on developing the Batgirl project. First appearing in 1967 in Gardner Fox and Carmine Infantino’s story run The Million Dollar Debut Of Batgirl, she’s the superhero alias of Barbara Gordon, daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon. So we can likely expect J.K. Simmons’ take on Gordon to appear along with other Bat-related characters.

Based on Lissa Evans’ novel “Their Finest Hour and a Half” and directed by Lone Scherfig (“An Education”), the film is set in London during World War II when the British ministry was utilizing propaganda films to boost morale. Arterton plays Catrin Cole, a scriptwriter who is brought on to handle the women’s dialogue — commonly referred to as “the nausea.” The film, opening this week, features an outstanding ensemble, including Bill Nighy as a washed-up actor and Sam Claflin as Catrin’s fellow writer and sparring partner.

Arterton is next set to play Vita Sackville-West in Vita and Virginia about her relationship with Virginia Woolf. She spoke to Variety about working with female directors, remarkable women, and why she shies away from the
term “strong female character.

I’m friends with the producer who I worked with on Byzantium and he sent it to me. I read the book as well, which is fantastic. You’re always looking for untold stories and many times they’re women’s stories. What surprised me is that it centers around a woman who’s really quite timid. I guess she’s allowed to be because all of the other characters.

Man Down debuted simultaneously on digital platforms in the U.K., meaning it was never going to be a big earner in theaters. But no one expected only one ticket sale. As of Tuesday, the Reel Cinema in Burnley was still carrying Man Down, which also stars Gary Oldman, Jai Courtney and Kate Mara.

In the film, LaBeouf stars as a war veteran suffering from PTSD following his return from Afghanistan. The indie project, reuniting the star with A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints director Dito Montile, made its world premiere at the 2016 Venice Film Festival before making making a stop at the Toronto International Film Festival.
