No Current Story for a Watchmen Season 2

HBO’s ‘Watchmen’ was a well received show that had a strong story to it that builds off the story from the original 1987 comic book of the same name. The show has a lot of racial tension between the white supremacist group dubbed the Seventh Kavalry and the Police Department. One of the most important story points is the relationship between characters Angela Abar and Dr. Manhattan who was disguised as her husband. Wanting to try and see what a normal life would be like, Manhattan removed his memories and forgoes his powers.
Everyone is trying to hunt down Manhattan in order to try and get his unbelievable powers to themselves. In the end, Manhattan is dead and Angela survives, but there is a strong cliffhanger in the fact that she may have inherited his powers. Many consider this cliffhanger to be a sign that the show will return for a second season. However, the show creator Damon Lindelof has said that he has no ideas for a second season.
This is a massive part of his decision to not be involved if ever there were a second season, since he has nothing left in his story that he wants to tell. He has said that he wishes that there would be a season 2 for Watchmen, but he and the others who worked on the show put it all into the first season. With people responding so well to the first season of the show, Lindelof believes that one season of the show was enough but wouldn’t fight against a second one. For now, with no story in place, there is absolutely no news for a second season.
